Crash on video export in Live 10
Crash on video export in Live 10
I finally was able to export video in Live 64 bits... until now.
Now I need to give to a film maker what I composed for him and I crash everytime I try to export a video...
I tried 2 different settings, without success. (quicktime movie, default setting, 3GP, default setting)
Is there any setting that will make me be able to export this video? I don't care the format as long as he can see it.
the music starts before the video, so it's more complicated to bounce it from Live 32 bits... I guess I can still do it this way, but, man, is this annoying???
Thanks

Re: Crash on video export in Live 10
Exporting the audio and mounting it with the original source video in any of the free video editing applications doesn't work for you for some reason?

So? You don't know how to insert empty space on the timeline? Doesn't the video start with a black screen or something like that?lapieuvre wrote: the music starts before the video
I've said it before, so again: while I fully agree Ableton makes too much fuss about there being video "support" in Live, the idea to run pro video trough Live needs to be abandoned. It's waaaay much easier to just export the audio and mount it in a video editor. For a DAW user just basic tasks on the timeline of a video editor are very familiar.

Re: Crash on video export in Live 10
I get your point.
But all i need is a video export feature for demo purposes. It's sad that before it was very easy to do, and now we can't do it anymore. BUT PC users still have the feature, because it works fine on windows.
I find it annoying to have to export audio then open it in Live 8 32 bits, then export it again.

Re: Crash on video export in Live 10
I agree this is sad, but as with other not fully working aspects of Live I've lost faith a long time ago in this one. I'm just happy you can use a reference video at all. I hope you have let Ableton know of your concerns?lapieuvre wrote:It's sad that before it was very easy to do, and now we can't do it anymore.

Re: Crash on video export in Live 10 [Solved]
Version 10.1.2 for fixes video export issues!
The Catalina OS update forced Ableton to write 64 bits video codecs for Live, which will come in the 10.1.2 version. I tested the beta, and video exporting is much simpler, faster, and of higher quality.
Better late than never!
Thank you Ableton
