You might have trouble with tempos - if you can find a Radiohead track at 65 bpm (in that range) then you could mix into a 130 bpm edm track. I don't remember Radiohead doing many fast tracks?

there *are* beats and bars in non-electronic music, it's just not as pronounced... meaning you'll just have to practice more

street spirit is quite an easy one of theirs to mix.... treat it the same as everything else: warp, cut, destroy with fx.... simple

It's a bastard. Even mixing really old house with contemp. music in Live requires a lot of warp markers OR a non-mixed style of mixing. Cutting, for example. If you are trying to layer (a la bootlegs) then you'll need to put the hours in warping each beat.

Also, remember you don't have to warp the entire track ... make sure the first & last 30 seconds (whatever, up to you) has the beats pinned down, then leave the middle as-is.

thats ok if the original tune is strong enough.... if your mixing some old funk, which sounds weak compared to new compressed-to-hell stuff, then you want to warp the whole track so you can layer some extra tuff beats behind it.

it might take ages.... but if you pick the right tunes its worth it.

Elemental and Machinate...

Can't a guy be taken seriously in his ignorance? For real - I don't know what EDM is... Please do tell.

I'm the one East of Denmark, but I'm not EDM... I think...

This is exactly the sort of mixing I've been working on developing. My problem has been not wanting to increase/decrease the tempo so much it destroys the feel of the original. So far I've had the most success turning off warping for those tracks, and just mixing by ear. It seems to me that's more appropriate for stuff that is that ecclectic.

and for what it's worth I don't have a clue what EDM is either (though I'd guess "electronic dance music"). Hell, I only recently got EBM and IDM.
