Looperists: you are not bothered by the 90 second limit?
Looperists: you are not bothered by the 90 second limit?
It's funny; in all the years of using this mostly golden device I've never heard this mentioned anywhere that there is a limit to the buffer. More and more I am using longer loops and I finally had to figure out what was causing the sucker to shut down after X amount of time. It didn't occur to me that it ALWAYS shut down after 90 seconds, I must have used shorter loops more often in the past.
But indeed, confirmed by support, Looper is meant for short loops.
I do tempo-free atmospheric loops and LOVE playing with the feedback knob to fade out the old and bring in the new, so Session view workaround may be less than desirable.
It seems the looper VST market is quite the ghost town, surprisingly, considering the ever-growing hardware market and popularity of looping.
Any suggestions? MF(gulp)L devices?

There are several on kvraudio.com. Just search the site for "looper". It has results for about 20 loopers. I think you may be able to filter through and see if there are any free ones. Yep, here http://www.kvraudio.com/plugins/instrum ... per/newestnowtime wrote:It's funny; in all the years of using this mostly golden device I've never heard this mentioned anywhere that there is a limit to the buffer. Thanks for the links, thrifty spender~! not a very promising bunch of loopers.
I guess no one else frequenting this forum could care less about this issue.
Looping is dead! Long live the Loopers!

Sooperlooper and Mobius are really powerful. There's plenty other options.

Of course, audio clips can loop at any length. Looper is the only thing I've never used in Live.
Make some music!

Maybe not a good source. It's a website I'm familiar with, but I haven't ever downloaded from there. Sorry. I hope you find one!nowtime wrote:Thanks for the links, thrifty spender~! not a very promising bunch of loopers.

Unfortunately Sooperlooper requires JACK Client (no thanks). Mobius looks interesting, though it is not so inviting when a VST hasn't been updated in over half of a decade. Abandonware?
I reiterate: Looperville is a ghost town. Angstrom Looper 2?

Is a sample that's over one and a half minutes a loop or half a song
Sure beats the 8 second loop/sampler I had on my first "pro" mixer.

Found more loopers. I think these were created using Max for Live. http://www.maxforlive.com/library/index ... y&q=looper I don't know if any of them go over the ninety second limit. If you have Max for Live, there might be a way to program your own looper plugin that exceeds the limit!
