Do not show Audio Interface not detected dialogue

Post by spkey » Tue Jun 26, 2018 11:36 pm

Hi,

I have a portable Live 10 system using a Windows laptop, a USB powered audio interface and a MIDI controller.
The nature of any portable system is to be able to unplug, transport, plug & play.

Every time I do this, I then receive a dialogue informing me that an audio interface has not been detected.
This happens even when I connect my audio interface prior to launching Live.

I think this dialogue is potentially frustrating to users and it's making an assumption that music production systems are continuously connected in a desktop fashion.

A more user-friendly approach is to:
  • Launch Live
Try to automatically detect whether the previously connected interface is plugged in
If it is then continue as-is
If not, then show the dialogue
I believe this is also what CakeWalk Sonar does and what laptop based users expect to see

+1. At least, add a “do not show this again” checkbox to the message.
