warping tracks

Post by ellboss » Wed Sep 21, 2005 9:59 am

was wondering what is the best way to warp loops and lyrics so that they are exactly beatmatched. Is there an easier way then just doing it by ear. cheers

I usually find that if you increase the track volume in clip view there is a distinct, visible pattern running through each tune, increasing the level just makes them more visible.

Once you select a start point for the first warp marker, usually on the first downbeat of the track, just move to the end of the tune and look for a repeat of this pattern. When this is done check the wave for breakdowns, they are usually visible, and put warp markers on the first downbeat after each breakdown. I usually end up with four or five markers per tune and they mix perfectly.
