Creating loop of a guitar riff

Post by johneglass » Wed Jul 18, 2018 12:07 am

Hi...I want to create a sound clip that is a loop of a guitar riff. Would I use looper for this? I have tried to record the riff using Audacity and then editing the clip, but I don't get the timing right. I would appreciate any suggestions or links.
Thanks!

Hi. This is what I do. I like to record into session view. You just hit the circle on an empty slot and a new clip will start recording. You can record pretty much as long as you want to. Once you have a recorded clip you can highlight sections within the clip that you want to loop and use cntrl+l to place the loop brace, And there is your loop.
To bring this idea to the next level you can hit cntrl d to duplicate the original clip as many times as you like finding new looped sections for each one. I find this idea works well for catching random ideas while jamming away while recording.
