MIDI BUG causing latency
yes check previous post do to the test with 2 tracks.
you're right it used to be like that in live4, (there used to be only auto or in) but now setting to monitor off records correctly.
there are ways around to hear what you play while recording what you actually play
you set your monitor to in for the track that triggers the midi and actually record on a MIDI track set to off. When you're done you drag/drop the resulting clip in the midi track and set it back to auto.
Or record on both tracks with auto set to the real midi track and drag/drop replace the clip
BUT THAT'S NOT LIVE FRIENDLY

I don't do much overdubbing so that don't bother me much, you should start a new thread but I guess it's no bug though, designed on purpose (don't ask me why).
I mean the orange dot has been created by design, so imagine the number of annoying things that can be created on purpose by such sadistic minds

The test with 2 tracks recording simultaneously is very good. i'm kind of glad to see this behavior, since it's obviously a bug and therefore, hopefully, my playing is not as bad as i thought it was.
If you use recording quantization it's often enough of a difference for the recorded notes to end up on totally different beats.. not just a little offset.

both have to be set to off.
there's nothing new for audio though, it's always been like that. if you set to auto or in = delay. off = spot on
It's new for midi to be able to record it correctly as there wasn't an OFF option in live 4. BUT BUT BUT let us have the proper recording of notes in auto & in modes too.
Ableton ?

if it's audio, you need a desk, if it's midi VST ,you need 2 tracks( see previous posts)arnski wrote:thanx for the hint on turning off monitoring though..
Would´ve never thought about recording without monitoring what i play, really..
