What's going on with Options.txt?
Live 10.0.2, Mac OSX El Capitan
What gives?
What gives?
Re: What's going on with Options.txt?
That function no longer works, there were changes under the hood of 10.0.2 that made it unneccesary.

Re: What's going on with Options.txt?
Thank you. There does not appear to be any mention of it in the release notes...
Re: What's going on with Options.txt?
option.txt items are unreleased and unsupported features, often created to test new ideas or implement specific requests from certain artists for various reasons. Since they are not officially supported features, they won't be discussed in the release notes. If people find out about them and like to experiment with them, they are welcome to do so. But they can be removed or altered at any time too if the software goes in a direction that doesn't support them, so just a heads up.

SOME parameters are documented in the knowledge base, though: Options.txt file.
Obviously the page needs to be updated re "ThinningAggressiveness" now.

Would you (or someone else) like to elaborate on this? I really liked this tweak, because I really don't need a million nodes on my automation envelopes.Tarekith wrote:That function no longer works, there were changes under the hood of 10.0.2 that made it unneccesary.

<------ waiting for elaboration too
Re: What's going on with Options.txt?
as someone on the opposite end, who really needs a million nodes in my envelopes because I record automation-based motion sequences, I'm equally annoyed and puzzled by this.
how about giving us an easy, simple way to directly adjust parameter sensitivity? the insanely coarse resolution has got to be the most ghetto thing about Ableton at this point.

Amen, editing became a messy trap.acYm wrote:the insanely coarse resolution has got to be the most ghetto thing about Ableton at this point.

Is there an easy way to reduce midi cc once they are recorded? I have some that I would like to thin (quantize in time) a bit to reduce the load on a particular midi device that can't process a high rate.
