Re: Push 3
Well for me, cant see Push3 needed for a while yet, personally, I dont want it standlone, as that limits your usage with Ableton i.e 3rd party VSTs etc. Certainly dont want 'another' audio interface. All I would like to see is maybe another bank of eight knobs with possibly some on/off switches too.
Live 11, M1 Mac Mini, Push 2, Scarlett 18i20 & ADA8200, Softube Console 1 Mk2, Deepmind12, Hydrasynth, Cobalt 8M, Moog Subsequent 25, IK Uno Synth Pro, Plethora X3, Nord Drum 3P
Re: Push 3
and that a future push screen is not using around 30% off the host laptop/computer CPU.

Re: Push 3
I am hoping for an Ableton Push Rack-like device. Something like the Launch Control XL, but with the following changes:
1- 4 rows of 8 knobs instead of 2
2- Top 2 rows of 8 with endless encoders
3- Ability to switch the use of the each row for a different device (with maxforlive/live and kontrol templates) - for ex, use 8 faders for a mixer, while using the top 4 rows of knobs for specific device control
4- Ability to use top two rows of knobs as a 16-step sequencer (imagine being able to use top two rows for sequencing, next two rows for device control, and faders to still mix/mute/solo 8 channels)
5- Screen backlight the entire device so you can see what you are controlling (with color so you can assign color to things such as osc vs filter to different colors to easily make it feel like a synth)
It would make all VST synths much more like analog synths. Would love to be able to swap through VSTs and see which knobs I am controlling and easily tell which section is for osc/filter/asdr, etc, while running a step sequencer, for ex.

Re: Push 3
I'd like to see them adapt a workflow for Arrange view on the Push. That's a major neglected area that Ableton hasn't addressed for some odd reason...

Personally I'd love a smaller version of the Push with less pads and a bigger/better screen.

Smaller version of Push with a Bigger screen and less pads? So basically an iPad then?HotLoveDrama wrote:Personally I'd love a smaller version of the Push with less pads and a bigger/better screen.

A lot can be done between an iPad and the Push...jestermgee wrote:Smaller version of Push with a Bigger screen and less pads? So basically an iPad then?HotLoveDrama wrote:Personally I'd love a smaller version of the Push with less pads and a bigger/better screen.
Re: Push 3
Push 3 should have 10 by 10 pads. It will be revolutionary. 8x8 is norm now. 10x10 is next level

Re: Push 3
This will and wont happen, and definitely not next level. Would need a rewrite of Ableton Live itself just for starters.

Adding extra pads would need Ableton to be re-written.. That is interesting statement. How so?Mark Williams wrote:This will and wont happen, and definitely not next level. Would need a rewrite of Ableton Live itself just for starters.
10 by 10 pads allow more for 2 hand playing.

Re: Push 3
Well it would be difficult since things are grouped by 8 and the way things like sequences lay out on the pads fits a perfect 4x4 time signature. The extra 2 pads would make it too much wider or reduce more useful functions. 64 pads is more than usable for finger drumming.
Re: Push 3
I see what you mean, but, the easy fix is the pads get greyed out when in those modes, like when ur 4x4 with a drum rack. Won't hurt it aesthetically. In fact, will be a plus.jestermgee wrote:Well it would be difficult since things are grouped by 8 and the way things like sequences lay out on the pads fits a perfect 4x4 time signature. Re: Push 3
If you want more pads, just use 64 pad layout, 8x8 is the norm for nearly all controllers, for a reason, it fits into a 4/4 workflow.Raypath wrote:I see what you mean, but, the easy fix is the pads get greyed out when in those modes, like when ur 4x4 with a drum rack. Re: Push 3
Yeah and having 2 rows of pads "greyed out" just looses valuable workable desk space for most. So I think you are sailing in your own boat there.
