I have Live 9.7 on an older 4GB Windows 10 32bit laptop. 4GB is my maxed out.
9.7 is ok but seems slow
I really want to try Live 10 but wondered how this performed on an older laptop?
I can reformat to W10 64bit so it can run Live10 but wondered how it ran?
For the record, I'm looking really to use only Ableton FX plug ins and maybe 1 or 2 VST's so not loads of VST's opting for more samples and audio, and don't really want to upgrade this PC (as an SSD is way overpriced for what its worth)
Reaper is very economical, and works well but its not as creative as Live

It will be the bare minimum you got, so it won't work very nice...... If it works what you got, maybe stick with it!

You didn't state your CPU but given you run a 32bit OS and have only 4GB ram (and a molasses HDD which would be running slow as with Win 10 on a laptop) , I wouldn't really want to weigh in on what you would expect. Set the bar to "not much" and you shouldn't be too disappointed.
I have a half decent laptop (i7 4710 2.6ghz, 12GB RAM) and it use to have a HDD which when I would load up and start Serato would take about 3 minutes to load the OS and another 1-2 minutes to load Serato. I also use to get occasional hiccups when playing too. Upgraded to SSD the other week and it now takes 12 seconds to boot to desktop and loads Serato in 10 seconds and not a single hiccup at all, it's like a brand new machine. That is what the price of an SSD will do for your system, worth every penny for a laptop especially.
