Beginner trouble
Beginner trouble
Hi - I'm very new and trying to add a simple audio file to a sample.
I here it through my headphones before I drag/drop it onto the sample, but when I bring it over I get no volume and there is no wave image. This happens for audio effects and instrument sounds. Any idea what I'm doing wrong here?
Thanks,
G

Re: Beginner trouble
create a midi-channel
add a simpler to the channel
add the sample to the simpler by drag & drop
and press a key on your keyboard
or
create an audio-channel
drag & drop the sample to audio-slot
and start the scene
like this guy - he have only 2 audiostrack

Re: Beginner trouble
I tried dropping an audio effect into a sample, but it won't even preview now and when I go to drag/drop it it doesn't appear in the sample.
I'm using the 30 day trial version until I buy it. Maybe this is a glitch?

Re: Beginner trouble
Also check your monitor settings, and drag it in the correct slot.
Monitor should be in your case in auto mode in the session view (where you have all these slots!).
Very usefull: https://cdn-resources.ableton.com/resou ... ual_en.pdf - the Manual of Live 10 - a very good read to start with......

Re: Beginner trouble
do not drop effects on your samples!
create a midichannel
put a simpler on it
drag the sample into the simpler
out the FX behind the simpler
play a tone

Re: Beginner trouble
A "sample" is normally what we call a short audio file. So the above sentence doesn't technically make sense. Therefore, just to be sure, when you say "sample" each time, what do you mean exactly?gpeeni wrote:Hi - I'm very new and trying to add a simple audio file to a sample
- a short audio file (aka sample)?
- an Ableton Live audio clip?
- an Ableton Live Sampler Instrument?
- an Ableton Live Simpler instrument?
Also, which folder exactly in the Live Browser are you dragging this "audio file" from?
Re: Beginner trouble
"I tried dropping an audio effect into a sample"
- sounds like dropping a Van into a tiny trashcan
- or the sun into my spaceship
- or suncream into creamcake
you cannot put FX into a Sample
the signalflow is the other way around and the FX
is coming after the audio.

hope you have figured to get out sound...
