Loading the Drum Rack Example Pattern into a track?

Post by animal » Thu Jan 03, 2019 2:29 pm

When I am browsing / auditioning drum rack patterns that came with Live, I can not get the patterns to load.
When I double click the pattern, only the instrument load.

In previous versions, I was able to do something like this and the midi pattern along with the instrument would populate into the track.

Anyone know how to do this?

The Drum Rack previews aren't "patterns" at all and haven' been all the time I've been using Live (Version 7), they are prerecorded audiofiles (ogg). The Drum Racks category doesn't contain anmy MIDI.

You can browse the Clips category, those that are MIDI clips load the intended instrument or drum rack. But there's hundreds of clips, and no telling from the browser if what you're previewing is an audio or MIDI clip.

Or you can browse single Packs in the Places area: Expand a pack to look at the contents, some have a "Clips" or "MIDI Clips" folder inside.

Thank you chrk.

I guess I can use the "convert drums midi" feature and see how well it works! :-)

I wonder why those midi files wouldn't be included somewhere....since they must exist and be useful.

I must have been browsing clips in previous versions.
