Convert Midi CC to Note
Convert Midi CC to Note
I'm doing this so that I can use the sustain pedal (Roland A-49) to trigger the looper effect.
So I found a device called MidiConverter and it doesn't really work for me, but that's the type of thing i'm looking for.

Re: Convert Midi CC to Note
Thank you, this looks like its very close to what I need, i'm just missing a step.
Because the cc64 from the sustain pedal always makes it through to map the looper, even if you've converted it with this object.

turn "Midi Thru" Off, delete the MIDI Mapping

Re: Convert Midi CC to Note
I deleted that mapping, and any attempt to remap it as a midi note comes back to cc64 unfortunately.doubleUG wrote:delete the Midi Mapping for CC64

Re: Convert Midi CC to Note
Just figured out how to do this:
Map looper to a note on an unused MIDI channel. I mapped it to C-2 Channel 2 on my keyboard.
Then, in a separate MIDI track in Live, use that M4L plugin, output to C-2 and change the track output to IAC Driver (channel 2).
If you have IAC driver set up in your preferences (Remote -- ON) then the MIDI map you created for looper will be triggered by sustain.
There are plenty of resources about how to set up an IAC driver online if you need help with that. I use MAC, not sure how it works for Windows.
