JD-Xi Not Recording

Post by blackeminem » Sun Feb 10, 2019 10:09 pm

Can anyone tell me why Ableton is not recording the sounds from my JD-Xi? It records the notes but all playback is the same default synth no matter what I choose on the keyboard.

and if I export it, it sounds like a piano no matter what.

This is on a Windows 10 PC I recently switched to. I had zero problems with this on my old Mac.

All drivers are up to date. The JDXi appears in the device manager. It appears in Ableton as an input.

The problem is, for example, when I record drum notes the software will only play back a single "synth" note.

I had zero issues on my old Macbook Pro. It just "worked".

I am so confused right now.

If I change the "MIDI To" Channels the recording will play back various synth sounds, but not the instrument selected on the JD-Xi.

I just want to record the sounds from the keyboard. Mostly drums. And I want the software to play back the sound I recorded.

And now my computer keyboard is intermittently failing to record any inputs, despite having computer keyboard selected as input and trying every octave
