How do you mix a drum loop from a single wav file?

Post by dentintheuniverse » Wed Feb 13, 2019 8:56 pm

So i bought a bunch of drum loops, turned them into great musical ideas with synths and everything. Now i want to mix the thing to send it to other musicians/producers. Problem is, the drum loop is a single WAV file. Is it possible to "chop" the drum loop up into different frequencies and send them to left and right as you would do with a multitrack drum loop and have it still sound descent? How would one do this?

You mean isolate drum hits ?
Not possible without losing much quality.

"Slice to MIDI" , group similar pads and go from there
