MIDI Keyboard not syncing with Ableton

Hey guys...I know this is not a new topic, but ever since I've had ableton (since v6) I've always had midi sync issues. I know am on v10 and it is an issue 100% of the time. I've swamped out midi keyboards, cords, changed sample rate, restarted computer, the whole 9...nothing...Anyone know the secret as to why this is always happening? Or have some other suggestions as to what to try...I'm so fed up with this...thanks,

Since version 6? And you stuck with Ableton? There's got to be some kind of award for that sort of tenacity!

Well, let's start with some basics: Specs for your computer and OS version? Kind of MIDI keyboard and current preferred connection type?

Is the keyboard plugged into a USB port on your machine, or a hub?

Is there a consistent pattern you are seeing when the connection fails? Set size, lunar calendar, etc?

When you say 'sync' what exactly do you mean? Are you experiencing latency when pressing a key? Or is the MIDI signal lost completely?

Gunna need a lot more info!

Thanks for the reply brotha! Sorry for delay...and yea man since 6!!! I honestly am beginning to hate it...Ok, so specs on comp:

MACOSX Mojave 10.14
iMac late 2015
4ghz intel core i7
32gb memory

Midi keyboard is a Yamaha (however, I also used my Akai to double check and see if it is the keyboard and still had issues)
Keyboard is plugged into Midiman which is plugged into computer
And as far as pattern, it just now always does it...I continually have to restart it or turn on/off, then randomly it will work and then I just keep it on. Eventually it starts lagging again.

As far as sync, meaning no latency/delay when pressing keys

Have you try using something else than your Midiman?

Sounds like a buffer issue. What is the size of your audio buffer and which Audio Interface are you using?
Which Yamaha and is it up to date?

Yes, what Yamaha? I used Live with Yamaha Motif ES and XF synths for 7 years with zero MIDI issues.
