Starting playback mid project

Post by Dfrazier98 » Mon Jun 10, 2019 5:20 am

I'm rather new to ableton and still learning so most of my questions have been easily solved by google searches. But one thing I cannot seem to find an answer for is how to start a playback in the middle of a song. I know you can press shift+space to start back where you had paused. But for example, when working on longer projects and I want to hear what my edit on the 32nd bar did to the entire project and not just that one track, how do I make it start there rather than listening to the whole thing again?

Click where you want to start playback, press SPACE

You can also insert markers that you can then jump between to make it faster to skip through a project.

You can also just type the number you want on the Arrangement Position in the top bar, or click in the Scrub Area (right below the Beat Time Ruler).

This works even when the transport is running. I use this method more than any other.
