Audition individual layers in an instrument rack

Post by jonljacobi » Thu Sep 12, 2019 10:44 pm

Can you, and how would you do this within the rack, or even the larger wave display? In this particular case I have twelve velocity layers per drum and I'd like to hear how each layer sounds. The play buttons seem to only play at one velocity.

Nothing? Is it not possible? I was assuming I was missing something simple.

Your "play buttons" confuse me, there are no play buttons in an instrument rack.
Are you grouping instrument racks inside a drum rack? Then the play (or previev) buttons on the drum cells would make sense to me.

If so, put a velocity midi effect in front of the instrument rack, set the mode to fixed and tweak the out hi to fit the velocity range you want to preview. When done deactivate or delete the device.

Yes, drum rack, though it says instrument rack where the multisamples are. Thanks for the tip but I find it odd that there’s no audition function.

It might looks odd, but that’s the way it is, and Chkr’s tip is the most straightforward one.
