KOMPLETE M32 to control Ableton Live 10.1

Post by carlodemarchis » Wed Sep 18, 2019 1:15 pm

Hi All,
From an ignorant Ableton Live 10.1 user
I have bought a Komplete M32, I can easily control transport and track and obviously Kontrol plugins
How do I get the knobs to work on standard Ableton instruments
I read some posts but what is the latest?
Scripts? Ehm not sure how
This should be pretty a priority for NI or Ableton to make it work properly :)

Thanks

All the KK keyboards are designed to control NI's own synths and third party NKS-compatible synths but not built-in instruments on any DAW. You're limited to MIDI mapping for now, which is very limited.

You can create a second User Remote Script that can make use of the Midi Mode of the keyboard. I did a video for the MK1 S series showing how I use it with Live:

It will work with any keyboard, it's just a user script and a custom template to make use of as much functionality as possible.

The M series should be able to work (have made it work with an A series I have here) but the M series I believe doesn't yet have a MIDI editor for the knobs so you cant custom set the CC values.
