Hi there,
For whatever reason, on my new iMac, consolidating 4 clips in a 1 bar loop takes a really long time. On my older iMac, which ran super slow, consolidating clips was super fast.
Curious if anyone has experienced this issue.
Also, I have a MacBook pro, 2019, and consolidating clips is super fast.
Thanks!

Here you go:
iMac Retina 21.5 inch 2017
Processor 3.4 GHZ intel core i5
memory 16 gig 2400 Mhz DDR4
I don't have my older imac anymore so...but it was from 2010
Thanks in advance!

Same here, it takes forever sometimes! Definitely longer then it should...

"Forever" is a long time, that's one of the longest render times I have seen, with what you have described about your project, Forever doesn't sound right and I would expect it to take "Ages" at the most, maybe "Really long" is doable but you would have to prob reduce your overhead in areas to make it do better in others. Might be hard given your cycling power and age of computing you have.
I'd ask for a second opinion on that tho.
Hope that answers things as it was a challenge to work through your details there.

Re: Consolidating takes a long time
I'd like in on this thread too.
I'm just going to risk an unhelpful snarky response by not adding specific metrics other than to say that the process now takes considerably longer than it used to. Like it's about a third the time just to solo the track and bounce it out compared to consolidating. What used to take let's say 2 seconds in real time now takes about 2 minutes. Something is definitely amiss here.
I'm on a new Mac Mini 6 core running Live 10.1.30.
Pretty minimal track. just 4 audio tracks (warping disabled) and one midi. No plugins on the individual tracks - although that shouldn't matter for consolidating anyway.
