Double-click to toggle full-window MIDI editing
When doing detailed MIDI editing I nearly always full-window the piano roll rather than shrink it. This makes it easier to edit as the notes can generally be kept taller while all remaining within view.
As far as I've been able to determine, at the moment, this requires dragging the top of the piano roll up and down. (I'd love to hear I'm wrong about this)
There's a large space near the Fold and Preview MIDI icons where you could double-click to maximize/reduce the piano roll/modulation editor and vice versa. This would easily save five to ten seconds per editing session as you wouldn't have to drag up/down, move the cursor back down, and readjust your focal point.
I can see no downside to this addition. If you can, by all means.

Or maybe separate panel size for audio clip and midi clip?

Different sizes are fine by me. Per track for that matter. However, I can live with it being the same.
I suppose I should have said “expanded” editing. Just back and forth between whatever you resized it to, and the default.

yes to this, a simple shortcut to expand the window would be wonderful.

I should also say that this is not only a time-saver, it also reduces mouse movement, and wear and tear on your mouse hand. I have no small experience with repetitive stress injuries and every little bit helps. Live is by far the most efficient DAW I've used in this regard but it never hurts to be more so.
