Reamp and mix using outboard guitar pedals

Post by JoshR » Wed Apr 15, 2020 12:49 am

I can't seem to re-wire my guitar pedals from a recorded track in my Ableton back into another track (not using a guitar amp).
In Ableton one track output goes from my Focusrite 6i6 to a Radial Reamper XAMP, using a 1/4"trs-XLR cable.
Then a guitar cable to a stompbox.
Then a guitar cable to the Radial JDI.
Then Guitar cable from the JDI back to my interface.
All I get is a terrible buzzing sound, if anything.
I've tried variations, skipping the JDI, switching cables, going through a preamp using the Line In, using Hiz, etc.
Am I using the wrong cable type?
Could there be some setting in the Focusrite that I'm missing?
I've been doing music/using gear for many years now. I have watched hours of videos and tutorials. I think I'm doing everything right. I don't understand why this is stumping me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
If you cab point me to some tutorial about properly wiring a for Reamping that would be helpful. Maybe there is something out there I haven't seen.
Thank you!
