Drummers sometimes beat sticks together for a count-in. I like the "snap" this makes, short and to the point. What is it called when they play a whole rapid-fire pattern with just this snap? I tried to search for "stick fill wav" and "stick roll wav", the Web wasn't very forthcoming. Is there a special expression for it?
Also is there a special expression for hitting the side of the cymbal disc with the side of the stick? I really like the bell-like sound this creates, but any "ride" sample I audition is always the top of the cymbal being hit with a big sizzle.
