Hi! I´m new to Ableton.
I got this MIDI-clip I thought I was supposed to "freeze" & "flatten" to get things right. It´s some drums from my Yamaha DTX 12 I wanted to edit as audio in Ableton. When I think of it, I can´t even listen to the MIDI-clip in Ableton, but it is recorded. I think.
Am I doing something wrong, settings maybe?
Pls help.
MIDI - no audio output to freeze
Re: MIDI - no audio output to freeze
MIDI is not audio. It is instructions that tell a MIDI device what to do. MIDI can not be processed like audio because it is not audio.
From what you say it sounds like you need to record the audio output from the DTX into an audio track or send the recorded MIDI to another instrument, maybe a software one like Live’s drum racks. Then you can process that audio.
