Ableton keeps crashing on Catalina

Since updating to Catalina, my Ableton keep crashing randomly with no pattern, sometimes it works fine for a few weeks and then it's crashing on a daily basis.

MacBook Pro 13" 2017, 3.1 GHZ I5, 8GB RAM, Ableton 10.1.15 (happened on older versions too).

yes, clicking on the Mac menu bar seems to trigger the crash...

I'm having crashes every time my mac goes to sleep. Lame lame lame. Catalina newest version and latest version of ableton

In the latest Catalina and Live 10.1.25, I get a crash after some period of time. All I need to do is to load my default set (which has no plugins, just a few loops). Then just wait and eventually it will crash. Every time that I tested it. I reverted back to 10.1.18 and it's rock solid. Sent the crash report to Ableton.

This has become a joke. I've been doing live shows for 15 years with Live without a glitch. Last 3 live shows were all interrupted by a crash. Sent crash reports, opened tickets, sent messages to the Twitter account but received no answer at all. Not even a suggestion to downgrade or a request for additional info...

Did you get anything back? This is happening to me. It's never crashed when I'm using it, yet, but if I leave it open and unattended for a period of time, it always crashes. 100% of the time.

Here as well. I can be playing my midi keyboard for an extended piano practice, and it plays fine through Ableton even as the screen goes to sleep, and when I try to wake it up, it crashes.... and the screen stays dark.
And I've got a live performance soon... :[

Turn off display sleep in the meantime, at least then you don't have to worry about it crashing during the performance.

Also on the same boat. Live crashes after screen turns off or when computer goes to sleep. Also crashes when loading certain plugins. I'm on Catalina 10.15.7

Same here. My 2013 Macbook Pro died three weeks ago and I had to buy a new one fast. Bought a new 13" MBP (Intel) which came with Catalina meaning my old Live 9 Suite had to be upgraded. So. Three weeks ago I had to buy a Live 10 which I had no interest in buying and which provided nothing new I wanted. And it crashes exactly like you've all described. It's the worst money I've spent in a long time. And adding to injury they've just released Live 11. I am not impressed.

I don’t know what I’m doing wrong, but Live 10 stubbornly fails to crash on my Catalina installation. So far, anyway. It’ll probably start crashing all the time now I’ve said that.

One thing I don’t do which seems like it might be related to the crash issue is allow anything to go to sleep while Live (or Logic) is running. Which is a habit I got into years ago, under I think Windows Vista, because when that version of Windows woke from sleep it frequently failed to wake up any sleeping USB hubs and ports, meaning nothing connected by USB worked until it was disconnected and re-connected. If I’m not going to be using Live for a while, say overnight or for a few hours, rather than leave it running I usually save the project, quit Live and re-enable the OS sleep functions.

Same here, whenever my MBP 16" goes to sleep - crashes with the same result..

Looks like the QA team at Ableton need a wake up on this, as the latest release falls over at a sneeze..
