TRACK IMPORT

Post by cebolao » Sun Oct 02, 2005 6:30 pm

i would like to see the TRACK IMPORT function in next versions of live

like in protools: you select the session (live set) file, you see the list of all tracks - or better: you can list all tracks in live's browser under the SET file (like you can list midi tracks under MIDI file) - and drag the tracks directly to your project!

i'm working with a musician, we process her sound with various effects in live (3,4 tracks simultanously).

now when i want to use this set in other project i have to remember which effects and plugins i used and build the whole structure manually. i cannot even group them, because some of them are vst.

if there was a TRACK IMPORT it would take me seconds to do it.

and there are hundreds of other situations when TRACK IMPORT would help.

pleeease!!!

You can import in session but not arrangement from what I've seen.

Session is fine for some things but if you're using live to do detailed audio recording you end up living in the arrangement window and never touch the session window after a while.

If you can import from Protools that's somethign I've missed.

once its in session it's a snap to put the clip into arrangement (drag and drop)...and the track is there..
..i use both session/arrangement often

Very much needed indeed. Session clip import is only for some of us. Arrangement tracks import is essential for example for film scoring. Doesn't need any GUI enhancement, all there already. Just drag tracks and clips into arrangment (to their original (relative) position if multiple are selected) to merge arrangement.

Hi,

good news: you can import an arrangement track in Live 6 the same you could import a session track in Live 5. If you make a multi-selection of tracks that were routed to each other, even the routing is retained.
