Be prepared to buy an interface at some point, asio4all can be buggy at times for some.
Live 11, M1 Mac Mini, Push 2, Scarlett 18i20 & ADA8200, Softube Console 1 Mk2, Deepmind12, Hydrasynth, Cobalt 8M, Moog Subsequent 25, IK Uno Synth Pro, Plethora X3, Nord Drum 3P

a GOOD soundcard is the thing one needs to avoid latency.
must have, no can do
Asio4all does the minimal job and is quite efficient for basics.
When comes the moment where one wants to record live instruments or voice, this nice free asio4all shows its limit.
I struggled for months, having a usb soundcard it was not good enough for live taking without latency.
I saved some money then I bought the focusrite saffire pro 24 [which is discontinued now] for the firewire.
This changed my life and all the struggles were vanished, just a matter of getting used to it.
choose well, take your time for saving the money and comparing audio interfaces.
