Midi Mute mode for Drum Racks
Midi Mute mode for Drum Racks
Currently I have set up a Drum Rack containing external instruments to trigger my Vermona DRM1 MkIII.
I did not set up audio inputs for the external instruments for each drum sound of the DRM because I use the master out of the DRM and prefer external monitoring.
The problem is that the Mute and Solo buttons in the drum drack only mute the audio of the external instruments but not the midi notes. Solo and Mute have no effect.
So my plan of sequencing the DRM with Live + Push is useless now...
The buttons should mute the notes which are sent to the sound generators and not the sound generators themselves.
There should be a selectable midi mute mode for the drum rack.
Using the external instruments audio ins is no solution because Open Hihat and Closed Hihat have different midi trigger notes but the same sound engine.

Did you find a workaround for this? I am having the same problem.
Thanks!

Re: Midi Mute mode for Drum Racks
Mute/Solo on drum pads affect a loaded sound only, they do not mute/solo MIDI notes so there is no solution for this that I am aware of unfortunately.
Re: Midi Mute mode for Drum Racks
A Velocity device set to Clip mode and "Out Hi" set to 0, or Gate mode and Range set to 0 should mute the notes, on a pad's Chain.
Also simply changing the "Receive" note on the pad's Chain to a note that isn't triggered.

I made a Max For Live device that fixes this issue. You can find it at:
