Cant see Midi Notes when playing a Stray Cats device

I've recorded a clip in Ableton using a Stray Cats device. The clip is saved and fully functional but there is no midi data in the editor. Could someone explain what this is about?

I don’t know the device but you probably should record its output to another midi track if you want to edit it.
