Live not seeing audio from Apollo Twin

Post by oldmanyoung » Sat May 09, 2020 5:36 am

Looking to start recording some audio into a session I've been working on. It will be my first time using my interface to send audio into Live. I have configured my Apollo Twin within Live such that all inputs are active, yet I see/hear no signal hitting the track when I set the input accordingly. The interface definitely recognizes the signal. I have watched a few basic videos about setting up audio tracks in Live, and it doesn't appear I've done anything wrong.

what is if you chose another output, not the Apollo?
what speakers/headphones are connected to the apollo? (maybe a defect there)
is there a monitor option that you have to activate/deactivate?

The output is not the issue.I hear everything else happening in the project, except the audio track. Every other DAW I work in works without issue, I just can’t get audio to actually reach this track.

does the fader react to the input or is there no input at all?
how is the routing in this Audio Track applied?
maybe a screenshot could help to see if your routing is correct?

and the hardware configuration in the Live preferences is correct too?

No metering. No sound.

I have routing on this track set to "Ext. In (input 1)" with all appearing correct in Prefs.

Here are relevant screenshots.

from the pics all looks correct.
so i would say the problem (or a wrong configuration) is in the Apollo.

and in other DAWs it works like it should...? this is strange...

sorry, but MAC is not my system and from here i can not help yo further...

Yup, Pro Tools and Logic are both totally seamless. I don’t know where else to look for an issue. Thanks anyways for your help.

Bumping this because I cannot find the answer anywhere. I really don't think this is an issue with the interface, seeing as all other DAWs catch the audio fine.

This doesn’t sound right at all!

The UAD Console software should bypass Ableton’s inputs altogether if you’ve set it up according to UADs specs.

Regardless of what you’re seeing/not seeing in Ableton, Console should override those inputs. This makes me think it’s a Console issue. So, can you hear anything at all from your external device? Is their any signal in Console?

Have you found the solution for this, I have the same issue.
I can see audio in UA console but ableton is silent while everything seems correclty configured.

Answer is re-give "mic" Ableton Live permission in mac privacy in system preferences.

Not sure if anyone still looks at this topic but I have the same issue here.

I see the sound coming to console via the ADAT input for my HW synth running through Behringer ADA8200. I can hear the sound through my speakers. I can see it picked up the sound in Logic, Bitwig and FL Studio. Even in ScreenFlow screen recording.

Weirdly on top, in Ableton all 16 channels are picking up sound from the mic in Analog Channel 1 input.

And nothing comes through from the synth into ableto
I tried everything, consulted with many other Producers. Tried the mic permissions in Macos.

I am clueless.

Anyone knows what to do?

Here is how it looks: https://youtu.be/z9Vw8Z9I8Bo
