Interesting, I applied for beta testing on Centercode more than a month ago and I am still on the waiting list... I've been an active beta tester of Live 10 before it came out, but it looks like version 11 may be out sooner than I get a permission to test the new software. Is the demand so high? Weird!
I’m in the same boat. Signed up for the beta in mid-November. I’ve also been in on Live 10 beta testing since it was possible.

Yes, demand for the beta is extremely high still, so it's taking time to work through the list of people (thousands) who applied.

Hello everyone ! Hope I don't sound too "basic" or newbie lobby, but I just need a clear explanation regarding installing Live 11 on a machine where I already have Live 10 Suite installed.

Should I install first Live 11...and after uninstall Live 10? ( I do not want to keep both versions).

Will I have to reinstall all my plugins? ( I so much don't want to do that...). I am using macOS .

Thank you!

No hoops to go through.

Just install Live 11 and then uninstall Live 10. If your VST’s are in there standard folder which I think is Library/Audio/VST or something Live 11 should recognise them. If for some reason Live 11 doesn’t find and scan them then check preferences in Live 11, have a look at the file path.

Might be worth mentioning that Live 11 is still a beta...you might want to keep Live10 until 11 gets a full release...

Is the Live 11 LOM documentation online somewhere?

Still can’t get into the Beta since my mid November sign up and I’d like to know what has been added. I’m in the middle of developing some new Max for Live devices and knowing would be very helpful.

AFAIK, there is only the documentation inside the Max version bundled with Live 11 beta, not online.

After long testing and making a whole Track in Live 11 i have to say my concerns are blown away and im really happy with the new update so far. The new Hybrid Reverb is great and makes every 3rd party reverb unnecessary for me. i dont know if they changed anything performance wise, but Live 11 isnt lagging as much as 10 on my pc, on 10 when i had bigger projects the faders and any moving objects were lagging heavy ( i7 with GTX 1060), thats completely blown away with live 11, it runs smooth no matter what i throw at it. Also freezing and crashing of the program is much less, had it maybe 1 or 2 times in a whole week working with it. In 10 a crash was everydays business. The only thing thats still a real nogo for me is that it has no bounce in place and for gods sake i cant understand why they havent implemented it in 11, its one of the most requested features by users so far, i really hope they will implement it in a year or so, like they updated Live 10 after a year...but i found a workaround for it with a BIP max device that does automatic resampling for 3 dollar. Another great thing i like alot are the new cpu workload meters at each single track and the improved cpu meter is also good. The other new devices are more experimental and i havent found a way yet to integrate them in my music but we 'll see. Was using bitwig alot last year, mainly because it runs alot smoother and has BIP, but with the new update i have found a little love again for Ableton.

I was a bit surprised that the new reverb actually uses more CPU on my PC than the old M4L convolution reverb.

A Snare through Convo Pro = average 7% in my test set.
Same sound through Hybrid Reverb = average 10%

It may be particular to my setup. I'll have to check it on my laptop to double check before I report it.

yes u r right, they should improve the cpu usage of the reverb, its the convolution section that fucks u r cpu really hard, thats the weakness of ableton that some effects or instruments are pretty hard on the cpu for native plugs...i never use wavetable because serums cpu usage is less than wt's on my pc. but i think it takes aloooot of calculation on the code to optimize things for lower cpu usage, and as the pc's getting better and better its maybe not worth it.

Hybrid Reverb has an algorithm reverb section in addition to convolution, it is basically 2 reverbs.

Set it to Convolution only (instead of Serial or Parallel) and you should see a CPU usage closer to M4L Convolution Reverb.

Seems the Vintage slider adds CPU too, and seems Subtle adds more than Extreme for some reason.
