Re: What do I do when Ableton fails to respond to support requests?
Thanks! There is a similar parameter described on p 120 in the C manual. I will try it and see.

OK, you have got a C type, I thought you had an A type.....

So:miyaru wrote: ↑Sun Jan 31, 2021 10:46 amFound something on page 62 of the Virus A manual..... go to https://www.virus.info/manuals and there you find the manual of your Virus, go to page 62 of the Virus A manual and on top of page states how to disable program change.......
Disabling program change makes no difference
I am not running any control surface scripts
My current workaround is to simply disable all MIDI send from Live to the external synth. Which is fine if I want to play the thing, but not fine if I want to sequence it from Live.
Meanwhile it is more than two weeks since I sent my support request to Ableton and there has still been no response.
Re: What do I do when Ableton fails to respond to support requests?
I can't reproduce these unwanted PC on my end re:dream.
Can you share a screenshot of your midi settings/prefs? And also from the midi track you're using to sequence your Virus maybe? Do you think the PC come from the midi track or are "globaly" from Live?

Do you just need to sequence your Virus, or are you also controlling it/automating some parameters from Live?

There is for shure something wrong here.....
If you make a new project, with just one track sequencing the Virus.
If it still send PC and other sysex, send the project as a download here in the topic, I will download it and see what it does with one or more of my external synths.
Then we know if your Live generates it or not.
If not, something is really wron with the Virus.........

hi there, i don't know if you've done this already, but if not i'd suggest using Midi Monitor to check out what messages are being sent and from where:
https://www.snoize.com/MIDIMonitor/
and in the short term you can filter out the unwanted messages, maybe with MIDI Pipe:

Re: What do I do when Ableton fails to respond to support requests?
I finally heard from Ableton. They pointed out that the problem might lie with my MIDi connection: I am using a Roland UM-ONE Midi to USB converter. They suggested that I go straight through My Focusrite instead.
I have tried it and SO FAR it seems that the issue has gone away. Here's holding thumbs!
Thanks for the MIDI monitor tip - I will check it out.

Yeah, those USB to MIDI convertors can be a big pain in the a**. But glad you seemed to pin down the problem, maybe if you need more MIDI connections, look for a proven and decent MIDI interface......

I think my Focusrite should do
It's all keyboard practice, all the time for me these daysHave a good day, and make some music!!!!!
Re: What do I do when Ableton fails to respond to support requests?
Didn't even though about asking about this as I never imagined you would use one of these unfortunately unreliable little midi to usb converter!
I still have one of these from many years ago, and always try once a year to make it work but to no avail of course. I'll try again next year probably
Glad you sorted it out.
