Fragmented Time

Post by The_Subject » Thu Mar 18, 2021 10:04 am

Hi everyone, I've been coming into a problem I've not seen before and was hoping for some help.

I'm working with a friend, and every time I send him a MIDI clip, he imports it or even moves them around the set, ableton creates something called Fragmented Time, which puts everything out of sync.

Its shown with a greyed out section on the timeline at the top of arrangement view. Not really sure what else is needed (and I don't know all his spec) but google doesn't seem to turn up anything on fragmented time. Anyone?

You can right-click the "fragmented time" marker and remove it.

Thanks. What causes it though? What's it for? How do we avoid getting it?
