key mapping
Out of curiosity...
Is there any way that the key mappings could be saved and opened in other projects?
Owing to Ableton's lack of customizing key commands this would be a real time saver...

Re: key mapping
The only way at the moment is
Open an empty set
Map the keys as you wish
Make that set a "default set"
So as every time you open a new set your settings are ready.
You can't save mapping only and drag them into another set though...
(And it's a pity as it would be very handy)

Re: key mapping
Keyboard Maestro saved my life, it’s powerful but I mostly use it remap keys. Oh, and macros too! It’s indispensable (not affiliated, strictly a user).

Re: key mapping
Looks like that's MAC only...
I've thought about trying to get a third-party 'macro recorder' or some such. If anyone knows of anything would be glad for the info..
Using Windows 10 for my sins : )

Re: key mapping
I also use AutoIt for a lot of custom macro and batch type hacks along with StreamDeck for programmable macros for many applications. Combination of both these and some thinking makes almost anything possible
Re: key mapping
Abybody tried to use STREAMDECK to control VST plugins (internal-by Ableton , or external-by 3rd party) ?
I am trying to figure out how to:
- drop particular plugin (from plugins) into a track
- drop particular (custom) preset from user presets into a track
- how to select and open a preset or VST plugin from the selected track
I know one can do advanced stuff with Autohotkey, but this is a lot to learn to be efficient and create own scripts. I've seen some pre-written plugins but most of them would not fit my workflow. Peerhaps it would be wise to create a separate subforum for that
