I wish I could somehow mute the sound coming from Ableton without muting my master volume on my computer. Is there a way, or is this a wish list item?
I like to dub MIDI tracks to Audio and then convert it back to MIDI. This is a time consuming and repetitive process for someone writing full time, and sometimes I like hearing that loop, but when working on techno, I don't necessarily want to hear it over and over again, as I don't use templates to write music and organically create the beats from scratch each time. So writing, sometimes for 16 hour days, it would help reduce fatigue. Tips?
This is a random 3 A.M. thought and not a fully formed idea.

And I mean mute it while still recording at normal volume levels. So I can do the rare activity of watching tv or something while it's dubbing.

I'm not sure I fully understand your problem but couldn't you just pull down the "Master" Fader in Ableton?
