yes; still using the stable version.Machinesworking wrote: ↑Sat Dec 11, 2021 10:14 pm
I'm a little confused. Are you not using the beta therefore running Live in Rosetta?
Latest beta is fantastic!

Re: Latest beta is fantastic!
yes; only the V collections and pigments are native. They say they're just starting working on M1 versions of the effects after working on the instruments; so it might take a while.Machinesworking wrote: ↑Sat Dec 11, 2021 11:38 pmThey're not native yet though, just Rosetta compatible. I got fooled by it too.
Izotope is planning a "Q1 2022" release after having announced "end of 2021". Some of their oldest plugins apparently won't be updated (like the trash which I use). From NI I only use kontakt player and a few 3d party libraries; I gave up on the synths a while ago.

(I did the "quote" instead of "edit" thing again. sorry. don't know why it's so confusing to me)

No some the effects are done already as well, I gave up on Izotope ages ago for this. But they keep asking me to buy stuff lol.

Re: Latest beta is fantastic!
I wish you were right, but you're not. You might not be aware but some companies have to adjust the x86 code just to get it to work in Rosetta, the updates to the FX Collection are to get it to work in Rosetta, not as native Apple silicon. The wording is there if you look. When I open up Arturia Software Center it has a pop up window specifically saying ASC and the instruments are all M1 native, it does not mention the FX.
Pigments 3 update Release Notes says flatly "Apple M1 Support".
Delay Eternity Release Notes say "Apple M1 activation support".
When you use an App like Silicon that will tell you whether the plug in is native or not Delay Eternity reads as "No Apple Silicon Support, The application will be emulated on Apple Silicon hardware." Conversely Pigments 3 reads "Apple Silicon Supported"
Native support is coming in Q1 of 2022 for the FX Collection.

They were working in rosetta before the updates, I was using them, but jut as they updated them this week, I sold my fx collection (along with Pigments) anyway, I only have the 3 modulators left, as think the phaser and flanger are excellent.

Yeah, the latest versions are not Apple Silicon native, doesn't matter if they were updated last week or not. They will be soon enough, but it's IMO great to be clear on this stuff.Mark Williams wrote: ↑Sun Dec 12, 2021 10:03 amThey were working in rosetta before the updates, I was using them, but jut as they updated them this week, I sold my fx collection (along with Pigments) anyway, I only have the 3 modulators left, as think the phaser and flanger are excellent.

Re: Latest beta is fantastic!
I just been getting rid of plugins I no longer need or want, hence sold off what I can. Nearly all my plugins are now M1. My main fx stuff is now just Ableton plugins.

Re: Latest beta is fantastic!
Yeah I can relate to that, but I've got a plug in addiction that doesn't listen.
I only have Amplitube and the Vienna Ensemble Pro plug in installed in Rosetta 2, the M1 version of Live is a great way to sever ties, or at least limit NI plug ins and other stragglers to an old Mac Pro and the VEP server.
I'm just happy in the end to have played around with other DAWs (Bitwig, Reaper and Logic), and come back to Upgrade Live when it's starting to do the things that drove me to look for other solutions. If anyone is curious, Digital Performer and Logic both do Clip launching, but they miss the plot in terms of separate sequencers, neither can change tempo via Scene launch, and neither have Jitter for video work.

what I don't understand with all these m1 and native and so on... maybe someone with this systems and this beta can tell me: Ableton 11.1 running native on the silicons (arm). but what is with alle the plugins? ok. ableton stock plugins will work. sure! but what if I have a plugin that is not silicon-native? does it run automatically only as AU or also as VST?
till now I don't have an M1 but maybe some has tested it already. what I need is sylenth1, serum and some fabfilter (they are native I know). for ALL other things I use ableton stock plugin-ins.
thanks for try to tell me how it functions with all these m1-things

Re: Latest beta is fantastic!
Apple has an AU Rosetta capability that DAWs can tap into, so only the AU versions of x86 Intel based plug ins can run in this Rosetta mode. The plug in has to be relatively speaking, up to date for this to work though, so you will see companies like NI and Arturia etc. putting out updates to ensure compatibility with the Rosetta AU capability.
You're good to go it looks like, Sylenth-1 will run as AU in Rosetta, but Serum is native.till now I don't have an M1 but maybe some has tested it already. what I need is sylenth1, serum and some fabfilter (they are native I know). for ALL other things I use ableton stock plugin-ins.
If you're curious, this is the most updated list I know of. https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopi ... 6&t=556728
Re: Latest beta is fantastic!
thank you very much! will a AU/Rosetta-Version has any disadvantages?

Re: Latest beta is fantastic!
10%? wow... okay... I will wait and check it out. maybe they will updated till my m1 max (believe or not... I only bought it for ableton... all other DAWs are not the same... I have so much racks and so on.. I can not work without) will delivered
Re: Latest beta is fantastic!
most importantly is it stable? even with a lot of intel plug ins?
