Best way to keep warped songs when moving hard drives?
Best way to keep warped songs when moving hard drives?
To ensure song clips stay warped, do I need to collect all and save my music collection into 1 Ableton project?

Warp settings are saved with clips.
You can save clips in your User Library, or your sets (or anywhere else actually, but the User Library is the best practice).

But I've had so many instances where I save the clips and then try to drag it into another project, and it's not still warped. So not sure what I'm doing wrong. Sometimes its still warped, sometimes its not.

The ‘clip’ is usually an additional file associated with the audio file. Not just the audio file itself. You need both.

oh i see, so maybe thats my problem. So what would be the best practice for warping my whole music collection (it's very large). Keep all the clips in one project folder and the actual songs in the same location? (no collect all and save?)

Just make sure you keep the .asd files with the original wav files after you warp them, should work fine then if you drag them into a project from Lives browser.

So it has to be dragged from a project in Live's browser, but I don't have to actually collect all and save the song into the project file then? Even if I end up moving the project to another hard drive?
