Ableton does not send MIDI messages to a midi controller when the ARM and SOLO buttons are activated

Post by Adrien_G » Thu Mar 03, 2022 11:50 am

Hello everyone,

We use a Faderfox MX12 midi controller.

We assign a button on our controller to an arming button in live: everything works perfectly.

This same arming button in Ableton live is then activated by a ClyphX code: the button is activated but Ableton Live does not send a midi message to the MIDI controller (Faderfox MX12). The arming LED is therefore not activated.

If we activate arming in Ableton Live by another means than the MIDI controller, we cannot see on the MIDI controller if arming is activated in Ableton Live (the LED does not light up).

We analyze Live's output with Midiview, and the Track Activate button sends a message, but the Solo and Arm buttons do not.

The track activation button works perfectly, we would like the same for the solo and arm button.

Operating system
Mac > mac OS 10.13 (High Sierra)

Processor Type
Intel

Product
Live 11

Hardware configuration
Faderfox MX12 plugged on a USB hub with power supply. The hub is then connected to the Macbook Pro. The button is correctly set to TOGGLE.

THANKS A LOT FOR YOUR HELP ! :D

You probably need to use a remote control script to get your bi-directionnal info.
Check Remotify
Or manage the solo/arm communication with an emulated MackieControl script.
