PLEASE Anybody knows how to overdub automation parameters?

Hi !!
I have a question! I am doing automation to a reverb (ableton reverb).
So I assigned the controllers to 2 parameters
Frecuency in and Decay time!

once i recorded the decay time, i would like to record the frecuency in curve, without erasing what I recorded on the decay time! this is posible? because seems to be that the overdub will erase all the parameters of the reverb!! there is other way to do it than draw it?
Maybe I am missing something!! any trick, hit a function ?

What I mean is an overdub recording for parameters, to be able add new midi control movements without erasing the parameter movements I recorded before this take!

just press record and record the new automation. it wont erase your old one unless you touch the knob of the old one while recording the new one.

And you dont really need to keep posting the same question multiple times in the same forum, we see it...

I did thta!! but erase the other (previous recording)envelopes!! even if i dont touch that control!! make a linear envelope from the point it was!!

press f10 before you hit record to take the set back to it's natural state, then when you hit record it will only record what you change

What is F10 doing? I assume it's a shortcut for something you can access another way.

I've also been curious about automation and overdubbing. I don't have enough fingers to adjust all the parameters I want to in real time. Sometimes I want to automate over several passes on a single track and I haven't yet figured out how to do it without undoing previous passes.

AMIEL - In the Arrangement view, hit record on the top toolbar, and tweak parameter 1 with your controller. Hit stop, go back to start, hit record again, and tweak parameter 2. Parameter won't overwrite parameter one. o the right of your track, hit the drop-down box for Control Chooser. You will see 2 red tabs inside. This is to indicate that you have parameter data stored for 2 different parameters. Flip between the two and you'll see the tweaked data for each.

f10 is "back to arrangement" which means it reverts to whatever you have already recorded - so if you press it while the track is playing the automation will go back to how it's recorded and thus if you are recording the only thing that will get overwritten will be the next thing you tweak as everything else is playing as normal

The overdub button (OVR) ??

My mistake was that i armed the midi track..so that way erase the previous envelopes!!
Now my question is :
How can I overdub MIDI NOTES!! without erasing the envelopes of the parameters!! because in order to overdub a MIDI NOTE I have to arm the midi track, hit OVD and hit record!!
But when I arm the track and hit record, then I erase the automation envelope I already recorded!!

It`s really a shame ! after 2 years and no answer to this VERY simple question ! I have exactly the same problem : first I record some notes , then some automation as well.everything is fine at this piont. BUT when i go back to the same clip to record some other notes and add them to the clip , the whole automation is lost and erased !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is so stupid ! and I`ve found no soultion to this bizarre.And now I see everyone is fine with this ...

(Believe me I searched the whole forum for this with no success at all)

I don't have Live open in front of me to test out your problem, but something I usually do is have the notes in one clip, and then on a separate track, record automation in to separate clips on the new track - then route them both to to the track with the target instrument.

Many advantages to this technique - with the only problem being that it's not very useful for people who play & automate at the same time.

You`re right , this works fine . But don`t you think it`s awkward having 2 tracks for a Vsti ? why couldn`t we work this out with 1 track ? this is more like a bug to me that should have been fixed from early version of live .
