Is a skippable audio manipulation device available as illustrated in this video?

Hello everyone.

Ive been using VirtualDj as a audio design & manipulation device for a few years as it has a unique feature. And i'm wondering if there's anything in Max4live which would allow me to expand upon it. I don't know the terminology but it's a detailed digital variation of a dj performing needle dropping on vinyl or a audio track strip search.

Here's a video example 1 minute 20 seconds.

The Dj software is allowing me to manually improvise while it latches unto the closest transients of the audio file & resuming play. It's very effective on sequenced music. The audio examples with vocals around 5mins 30 seconds are playing or latching onto verses or words in reverse & still in time.

I'm aware of random sample slicers or randomised midi notes being used to trigger slices but this is a manual approach.
It would be difficult to perform with a controller unless something is randomised & the rack sizing limitations may be also be a disadvantage but there's lots of potential for sound design loops If I could automate save or edit the performance. Insert another audio file in it's place. Or use multiple instances & cross fade between them.

Post edited for clarity.
