Overdub notes in Session View

Post by mo-seph » Mon Apr 04, 2022 6:48 pm

Hi all,

Looking for help here. I work mostly in Session View, and I like to be able to record a few different clips with midi controller, and then go back to previous clips and add some notes - for instance, play a kick on one track, do a bunch of other stuff, and then go back and play some hats over the kick on the same track.

This works OK if Session Record is on, but all sorts of things make it turn off - often, deleting tracks. I can't turn it back on at that point, because that will start several tracks recording and also stop any audio recording that I'm doing.

Does anyone have good tips for how to make overdubbing work easily?

Note: this used to work fine in Live 8 and earlier, but I think it was 9 where they added the session record button, and now it doesn't.

I can't reproduce. Deleting a track doesn't stop session recording.
