How to Trigger output sequence in Ableton using m4L?

How can one setup a sequencing workflow such as this using Ableton?

If you have max for live there’s several ways to do it, natively I’m not sure.

How would you route a midi track say like a drum rack to trigger a sequence using this device?

Either midi from or midi to in the track output section of the mixer.

Oh my god. I had a total flashback. This was how we used to have to sequence everything. In 1988 I played my first gig like this. An SH101 clocked by the rimshot of a TR626.
Next song? Time to manually enter the next sequence into the SH 101. Live in front of people. Hopefully 16 notes but probably
15 . Aaaargh. Triggers my Post traumatic stress.
