Post by vishesh.l » Fri Dec 04, 2020 10:34 am

hey, many time you don't want to delete some tracks but you want to disable them so that they don't consume CPU. can you please add a disable track command please.

Alternatively you can freeze the track and mute it.

yes we can freeze, but the best would be to just right click the track and disable it. would save a lot of CPU.

I wanted to upvote this recommendation. I know you can disable either a clip or a track by hitting zero. And of course you can also select a Midi instrument and disable it (manually or by hitting zero), which actually does disable the CPU and memory use. Why not link those so when we disable a track the instrument is also switched off? It would make Live much more friendly for those of us using composition templates, since loading all of our instruments takes up way too much headroom!

Right clicking on Track Title and selecting "Disable All" devices/effects/clips/whatever therein to save CPU would indeed be very nice.

Also a new lappy: i7 1269, 32 gigs of ram.
