System:
iBook G4 with OS X 10.4.2
Alesis Photon x25 Masterkeyboard (connected via USB)
Live 5.0.[1-2]
Problem:
When turning multiple knobs or using the AXYZ controller (motion sensor) -- essentially activities that generate a lot of MIDI traffic -- Live often becomes confused and either triggers semi-random events (the most common being pulling down all of the faders that are mapped to MIDI inputs) and generally stops processing MIDI remote control input until the next restart of the program. Other notable issues are that after this happens using MIDI mapping to assign new values turning a nob results in a count in the MIDI channel/CC indicator from 1/0 to 1/125 -- i.e. 1/1, 1/2, 1/3 ... 1/125 -- rather than showing the appropriate channel/CC value (i.e. 1/78). (I suppose this could be an off by one in reading the MIDI data stream.)
From that point on with all further MIDI input Live seems to be confused. However, if I switch over to Max/MSP and compare the values it's seeing for the MIDI input they are still accurate, so this doesn't seem to be corruption of the data stream.
When I was previously using Live on my desktop (with Windows / Live 5.0.1 and the same MIDI controller) I did not notice this behavior.
