Apple Loops in Ableton Live - tempo mapped correctly

Post by thirdspace » Fri May 05, 2023 4:43 pm

Hey everyone - I guess this has been asked before (maybe a lot) - but is there an easy way to use Apple Loops in Ableton?

I see a few tutorials and answers on this involving batch convert to aiff, or change the file extension to .mp3
So this makes them visible to Live, and can drag and drop in, and play back.

BUT, the metadata that maps the .caf correctly to the tempo map in Apple apps is stripped and the aiff/mp3 plays back in Live with slightly incorrect timing as there is always a little extra audio on the end (presumably for cross fading into each repeat of the loop) which throws the timing off.

So I could manually edit in Live but there are thousands of the things so looking for an easy way to utilise them correctly beat mapped in Live if there is one??

Thanks in advance :)
