Noise & ambient sound generators?
Noise & ambient sound generators?
I'd love to be able to create tracks using non-sampled, noise-based "natural" sounds such as rain, running water, oceans, fire, wind, wind through trees, crickets, frogs, birds, etc.
Is there anything either within Live or available as a plug-in you'd recommend?

Not sure if it has exactly what you’re looking for, but I always thought this was a really cool app:

You might check out the 'Inspired by Nature' pack if you haven't already. I've found some of the M4L devices (in this and other packs) to be a little squirrelly, but the 'Tree Tone' instrument can create some interesting effects. And of course as long as you have a noise generator (of which I think there are multiple available - Drift has one, for example), you can create wind/rain/surf/etc. sounds with appropriate processing. The Echo device can also create some interesting ambient effects with its noise feature (don't have a link handy now, but I've seen at least one video on that topic).
Another pack to check might be 'Drone Lab' (although I think Harmonic Drone Generator has some bugs with its tuning).

I’ve had my eye on Texturize by Aura for a while but haven’t pulled the plug. I don’t have any first hand experience with it so I don’t have any real input. But based on what you mention, this is similar in some regards and has been on my personal watch list heheh

Thanks all! I'll check these out.
I guess there's no way to "like" a response here?

Re: Noise & ambient sound generators?
Unfortunately not, but it's something I too have asked to be implemented.
