Midi clip spectrum/equalizer

Post by DHLman » Thu Jun 08, 2023 6:29 am

Hello

I m pretty new with ableton and trying to explore it.

I do have a question, i hope somebody can help me with the following issue:

Lets say i make a 1 simple clip with a hihat, drum, clap and snare. If i put a spectrum/equaliser on it, it shows me a combination of all 4 elements in 1 graphic.

All my changes will be shown in the spectrum as well so basically the spectrum is an addition of all 4 elements together.

Is there any possiblity to put an equalizer for every seperate element (hihat, snare, clap, drum) in 1 clip?? It would be easier for me to see for every element where are the harmonics and which frequenties i want to cancel out. If i can only use 1 equalizer in 1 clip, every input i make will have have effect on all 4 elements of that clip and i dont want that.

Somebody can help me with this?

Hello DHLman,

this is how a spectrum analyzer works. It shows the currently present frequency spectrum of all active audio devices....
My suggestion would be to turn off the unwanted devices. This way only the frequency spectrum of the active device is displayed.

An equalizer would completely distort the original frequency spectrum. This idea is not good.
