hy folks!
i'm wondering if there's a possibility in ableton live for extending the sample without stretching oder pitching it. like marlow does it on the mpc in this video (at 2:10: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WKP9dLLafEQ).
i know it is possible to loop a part of the sample, for example the end. but wondering if there's an other way. Playing with the release time or does anyone know an other, better, easier way?
thanks for your help!
Extend a sample without stretching or pitching
Re: Extend a sample without stretching or pitching
Of you course you can't extend a sample other than stretching or pitching it down. If something doesn't exist it needs to be created.
Anyway, I looked at your link and what you actually want is a longer Release time on your Amp/Volume Envelope (also called ADSR, for Attack/Decay/Sustain/Release).

In that MPC video, it is simply looping the tail length (probably with fade-ins/outs), you can hear the audio looping.
In Live you would set a loop in Simpler (Classic mode) or Sampler, or even simply using Warp in Simpler (if you just want 2x or 4x longer).
