Hello, I'm a newbie at Max4Live.
My first Max4Live device is very simple. With fpic it simply displays a freely selectable image. (fpic--read--textbutton) The problem is that when I save the live set in ableton and reload it again, the fpic field is empty again. What do I have to do so that the path to the image is saved automatically?
Thanks.

It’s not that easy !
You’d either want to have it hardcoded in a message box and triggered on load with [live.thisdevice]
Or
Find a way to store the image path in some object that can be “parameter mode enabled”, in other terms, savable with the live set. It could be [textedit] for example.

Re: M4L automatic save settings
Hello, thank you for your support. Unfortunately I didn't solve it. I'll probably have to work my way into it further.
Re: M4L automatic save settings
fpic inspector > "Embed Image in Patcher"
or try to "freeze" the m4l device
or try to "freeze" the m4l device
copy the text, open Live > drag in empty M4L device > open Max editor > paste > save M4L device

Yep ! Unless you want to save different pics with different sets.

Re: M4L automatic save settings
yes, that is exactly my problem. I use different images on different tracks (and also in sets). This makes it easier for me to see which patch is currently active on stage from a greater distance. That's why I want to have a suitable image first on each track.
