Strange blue line

Post by carlcaulkett » Thu Nov 01, 2018 4:19 pm

Hello, I've just noticed a strange blue line around the first 10 scenes in my Session view...

Anyone know what it is?

You're using a grid controller like Push, APC40...
Don't know which one is it covering 10 scenes, though.

Aha! Yes, I'm using TouchAble which acts like a hardware controller.

Thanks, mystery solved!

Its a feature not a bug, no need to fix, meter to read the manual...

Can someone tell me how this feature is called? I can't seem to find it. I'd love to actually activate it so that i can see from my laptop which scene im launching. I have the Ableton Push 2.
Much Love

We got used to call it the "red box" even though it's not always red.
It should appear automatically when your P2 is connected to Live. If the "red box" isn't here... then your Push shouldn't even work.
Anyway, you can still go to Live's Link/Tempo/Midi Preferences > in Control Surfaces your Push2 should be selected, if not do it from the drop-down list and then select the input and output ports.

Thank you very much for your quick answer! Sadly this didnt solve it, it gets even more confusing, when i select push2 and then select it as input and output, i can't use the push at all anymore. It works if i choose none as input and output, not the red box though... its kinda frustrating at this point.....

Are you sure your Push is v2? Sounds like you're trying to connect a P3 to P2's script...

@Jay
Here is some information about setting up MIDI controllers, including Push 2.
https://help.ableton.com/hc/en-us/artic ... references
Normally, you don't have to configure the Push 2, but maybe some settings got messed up in your case.

@[jur] I def. have a Push 2. As you can see in the Screenshots..
@Rivanni Thank you very much, i went through all the infos and did it as suggested.. nothing.. i dont get the Red Line :|

I've had a Push 1 first which worked just fine, but since I have the Push 2, never had that line.. so i really dont get what the issue is..... I hope to fix this, got 3 gigs next week and i'ts always been a hit and try to figure out what to launch, which doesn't really make you feel more relaxed on stage...

That's weird.
Did you try selecting the P2 and its in/out ports in the control surfaces slot n°2 (or any other than the 1st one?)
I'm colourblind and I don't use the 1 slot because the "red box" colour isn't really visible to me if it's on slot 1.
